BIBSYS

BIBSYS היא רשות ממשלתית השייכת למשרד החינוך והמחקר של נורווגיה. הרשות מספקת שירותי תוכן מחקרי ולימודי, בהם שירותי אחסון, שליפה והעברת מידע ומטה-דאטא של מקורות חיוניים ללימוד ולמחקר (ספרי עיון ולימוד, כתבי עת מדעיים, עבודות מחקר, מאמרים ועוד). הרשות פועלת בשיתוף אוניברסיטאות, מכללות אקדמיות, מכני מחקר והספרייה הלאומית של נורווגיה. הרשות מספקת לחוקרים ולתלמידים גישה למקורות ולספריות באמצעות שירותי ממוחשבים ברשת האינטרנט (בפרט הפורטל oria.no). הרשות מהווה את הנציג הלאומי הנורווגי למיזם DataCite (ניהול ציטוטים גלובלי) ומנהלת את הקודי המזהים הבינלאומיים של הפריטים בקטלוגי הספריות בנורווגיה.

BIBSYS: היסטוריה

היחידה הוקמה ב-1972 במסגרת האוניברסיטה הנורווגית למדעים וטכנולוגיה בשיתוף החברה המלכותית הנורווגית למדע וספרות (Det Kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskabs Bibliotek) במטרה למחשב ספריות אקדמיות וספריות מחקר. היחידה צמחה מניהול שתי ספריות בטרונדהיים למערכת הלאומית לניהול ספריות מחקר במדינה וספקית שירותי מידענות מגוונים לצרכני ספריות אלה.
